Kingsport City Schools has announced two resignations from the Kingsport Board of Education,
effective immediately.  Mrs. Betsy Cooper and Mr. Andy King have announced their resignations
from the Board, both for employment considerations. Read full
news release here.

The Kingsport Board of Education is made up of five elected at-large, non-partisan members. Each member serves a four-year staggered term. Elections are held in May during odd numbered years. New Board of Education members are seated on July 1 of each election year.

The board meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays each month, with regular monthly meetings on the first Thursday at 7 p.m. and work sessions held the third Tuesday at 6 p.m. The meeting includes a public comment period on agenda items. Take note, this year some meetings/work sessions needed to take place on a Tuesday. Please see full meeting schedule details below on the right side of your screen under BOE Information.

To address the board concerning an issue not included in the board's regular agenda, you must submit a written request to the Superintendent of Schools at least five business days prior to the scheduled board meeting. At the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education President, your concern will be placed on the agenda or addressed privately at an appointed time.
